Somehow, at the end of every wedding, I feel like I’ve just done something really good and worthwhile. You could argue I’ve just taken a bunch of pictures of people having a good time, and that is true of course. But it’s more than that. It’s about being a part of a day that has lots of history already. Not just the couple’s history, but the history of the families involved, the friends (occasionally animals too!); how people met, the family Christmases spent together, the holidays, you know, life and all the bits and bobs that make it all what it is. In a way I get kind of injected into that for the day and I take pictures of people interacting with each other with all their history mixed up together. It’s amazing and I love it.
Amanda and Phil’s wedding was fantastic and made me laugh out loud quite a few times. Some of their choices for the day really made me laugh, like choosing a band that doesn’t play any covers! It was a full on gig by Hey Pablo, and it was amazing, Those guys really filled the floor which you wouldn’t expect without a single cover being played.
These guys had a passion for life, and mixed it all with a hint of crazy fun. It was a memorable day for sure and spending it with Amanda and Phil was brilliant.
