Adam and Christina - East Quay Wedding Photography
I’ve only visited East Quay in Whitstable in the winter months. Last time I was here it was in November a couple of years back. It was a bit cold and the wind was pretty harsh - Adam and Christina’s was fairly similar, a bit cold and a bit windy, somthing I quite like actually, especially when it’s overcast, the shots can be a bit moody. Anyway, enough of that. These guys booked me some time ago when I was doing an offer for NHS staff. It’s something I did after the NHS had taken such good care of my mum in the last few months of her life. I wanted to pay back a bit so I dropped my prices for HNS staff for the whole of 2018 and 2019. Adam works for the NHS so he got in touch and we got it booked in. Like so many weddings that were booked in though it got postponed, and postponed…. Eventually it happened, at a fine venue, many many miles from Bristol. Last time I photographed and East Quay wedding I drove down in the morning and leaving Bristol at around 4.30am and drove home after the wedding! Not this time though, not a chance. This time Lillian came with me the night before and the couple had been so kind to put us up at a hotel the night of the wedding. That made things so much nicer!
We spent the day before in Whitstable, having a look round and trying some of the food. It was like a little holiday.
Adam and Christina had the most colourful wedding, I think a lot of the decor reflected Christina’s style which is colourful and creative, and created the perfect vibe for the day. We managed to dodge the rain just after the group shots, I could see it coming in behind the group as they stood on the beach with their back to the ocean. I took the last shot and the heavens opened. That led to a mass stampede into the venue through the tiny back door they have.
We also managed to almost lose a shoe in the sea. Christina took her shoes off when we went for a little walk on the beach. The tide was coming in faster than we anticipated and I had to do a mad sprint back to retreave the shoe which was now under the water! All was well though, no permanent damage!
