I’ve been a Bristol wedding photographer for the last 12 years. I don’t just photograph weddings in Bristol I travel all over the UK and occasionally abroad. 350+ weddings and counting!
I’m married to Lillian, we got married I was only 22 and here we are 23 years later still loving life together. We have 3 son’s, a crazy little Jack Russell dog and live in Bristol. (it’s a great city!).
My approach to wedding photography is relaxed and candid, always looking for moments that tell the story of your day. It’s got to be real so I won’t ask you to do a load of crazy poses!
I also love all the fun stuff that happens at weddings. So while I do like a lovely sunset image, I also want to capture fun and random things that often happen when all your family and friends are gathered together in one place!
I really enjoy meeting new people and feel at home in a crowd full of strangers, which is what weddings are for me, I’ve usually only met the bride and groom. I love to help make people feel comfotable when a camera is around and the feedback I get at weddings the most is how at ease I make guests feel. Wedding days are all about the couple and their guests, not the photographer!
Natural and Unobtrusive Wedding Photography
My aim whenever I am photographing a wedding is to try and fit in like a guest. I am always trying to capture moments, not poses. I don’t turn up with huge lenses and equipment that screams photographer, it just gets in the way. I want to capture you, your friends and family in an unobtrusive and fun way.
For me it’s all about honest story telling, not orchestrating moments, forcing poses, making people feel uncomfortable - it’s simply being present and using images to tell the story of your day. It’s the only type of wedding photography that interests me actually it’s all about people and relationships. I love that stuff. The camera just becomes a tool to capture moments. My choice of camera equipment reflects that too. You won’t see me with huge lenses and cameras, I like to be discreet and unobtrusive.
